Are you the frugal type? If so, these tools may be perfect for your business. Many people are often intimidated with the costs of starting a business.  I have found some great tools online that keeps my overhead low while maintaining a professional appearance for my business. These tools are staples in running my business efficiently.  I hope these tools help you as much as they have helped me!

overview

Google Voice : As a business owner myself, I felt uncomfortable with placing my personal cell phone on my business cards.  When I heard about Google Voice, I thought this was the perfect solution. When you sign up, you are given your own personal phone number. You do not have to buy a new phone for your business. You can download the Google Voice App and receive incoming phone calls directly to your cell phone or home phone. Google voice also allows you to send and receive text messages. The cost of this service is FREE.  Here is a friendly tip: Save the Google Voice phone number in your phone as “Business Call” so that when you receive a business call you may answer it in the proper manner.

Hello Fax: This service allows you to send (& receive) faxes. You have two choices, you can choose the free version in which you can only send faxes (about 5 pages per month). You may also pay $9.99 a month to send and receive a limited amount of faxes. They will also assign you your own fax number.

hellosign

Hello Sign: This service is also amazing because you can request a digital signature from other people for things such as contracts. The best part about this service is that it is legally binding.

Dropbox: This is a cloud based file storage service which allows you to keep all of your files in the “cloud.” You can also share files with your employees. It is perfect because many entrepreneurs are often on the go. You may access your files simply by logging into the website. You don’t have to be attached to your computer at all times. You will have the comfort in knowing that all of your files are in the “cloud”. How amazing is that?

Fiverr is without a doubt the best tool for marketing on a budget. You can use this to get your logos, business cards, flyers, and banners designed all for $5. The price increases as you add more extras to your “gig”. I even used this site to design many of my marketing materials. My logo was even designed on this website! In order to get the best designed logo be sure to look at the artist’s portfolio, ratings and reviews. I highly suggest going with the person with the logo designs that appeal most to your taste. Do NOT be afraid to request a modification to have the artist modify the logo to your liking. Many of the artists provide unlimited revisions.
