ACCESSIBILITY
Stokes Law Group · Accessibility Statement
Legal services should be accessible to everyone.

We believe that access to the law, and access to counsel, is a matter of protection. This statement outlines our commitment to making our website usable by all visitors, including those who use assistive technology.

Effective Date: August 11, 2026
Our Commitment

Access to counsel is access to protection.

Stokes Law Group, PLLC ("SLG," "the Firm," "we") is committed to ensuring that our website, stokeslegalcounsel.com, is accessible to people with disabilities. We work continuously to improve the accessibility of our site and the digital tools we use to serve our clients.

Our commitment reflects our core belief that legal services should not be gatekept by design choices. Whether a visitor uses a screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, voice control, magnification software, or any other assistive technology, we want that visitor to be able to learn about our services, contact our team, and become a client of the Firm.

This statement describes the accessibility standards we follow, the specific measures we have taken, the known limitations of our current site, and the ways you can reach us if you experience any accessibility barrier while trying to use our site or engage our services.

Standards We Follow

Built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Our design and development efforts align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), targeting Level AA conformance.

What WCAG 2.1 Level AA Means

WCAG 2.1 organizes accessibility requirements around four principles: content must be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. Level AA is the standard most commonly referenced in accessibility law and best practices in the United States and internationally.

Meeting Level AA means our site is designed so that:

  • Text and images have sufficient color contrast for readers with low vision
  • All functionality is available using a keyboard alone, not just a mouse
  • Users have enough time to read and use content
  • Content does not cause seizures or physical reactions
  • Users can navigate, find content, and determine where they are
  • Content appears and operates in predictable ways
  • Users are helped to avoid and correct mistakes
  • Content is compatible with current and future assistive technologies
What We've Done

Specific measures we have taken.

Design and Development

  • Semantic HTML structure across all firm-authored pages so that assistive technology can accurately interpret content
  • Text color contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA thresholds against background colors
  • Sufficient text sizing with the ability to zoom to at least 200% without loss of content or function
  • Keyboard-navigable menus, forms, and interactive elements including our fee calculators and FAQ accordions
  • Alternative text descriptions for meaningful images
  • Clear, descriptive link text that identifies destination and purpose
  • Focus indicators visible when navigating by keyboard

Content Standards

  • Plain-language explanations of legal services and pricing wherever possible
  • Consistent page structure using a fixed header, anchor navigation, and predictable section order
  • Documents (PDFs, engagement agreements, guides) offered in accessible formats where feasible, and alternative formats available on request
  • Content organized in clear reading order for screen readers

Ongoing Testing

We test our site regularly using a combination of automated accessibility scanning tools and manual review, including keyboard-only navigation testing. When we build new pages, accessibility is part of the standard review before publication.

Honest Disclosure

Known limitations and ongoing work.

We do not claim our site is perfect. Accessibility is a continuous process, not a one-time achievement. Here is what we know about the current limitations and how we are addressing them.

Third-Party Content and Tools

Certain features of our site rely on third-party services that we integrate into our pages. These include our appointment booking widget (provided by LeadConnector), our client portal (provided by Clio), payment processing (provided by LawPay and Affirm), and embedded video or audio content.

While we work with vendors who prioritize accessibility, we do not control the underlying code of third-party tools. If you encounter an accessibility barrier in one of these tools, please contact us directly and we will assist you through an alternative method.

Older Content

Some blog posts, PDF documents, and legacy pages published before our current accessibility standards were adopted may not meet full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. We are working through this content systematically, prioritizing pages with the highest traffic and greatest impact on prospective client access.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility standards, assistive technologies, and best practices evolve. We commit to reviewing this statement and our site's accessibility posture at least annually, and to addressing reported barriers on a rolling basis.
